Jonah 1:3
But Jonah rose up to flee unto Tarshish from the presence of the Lord, and went down to Joppa.
I know most Christians know this story in the Bible, how Jonah was given an instruction by God to go to Nineveh but refused and chose a path for himself.
The instruction God gave to him contained what he was supposed to do in Nineveh, but Jonah decided in his heart against the instructions of God.
The world says, “listen to your heart”…but the Bible says, “The human heart is the most deceitful of all things and desperately wicked.” Jeremiah 17:9
And it’s so unfortunate that a lot of us are listening to our hearts, worse still, some are listening to advice from fiends against the instructions of God.
Jonah listened to his heart which he does not know is desperately wicked, he followed his heart, and this is how most Christians end up in the belly of the fish.
I pray for you may your destiny not be diverted! The original course that Jehovah has planned for you shall not be shortened in the name of Jesus!
Destiny diversion by way of disobedience against the instructions from God is what is happening to a lot of children of God.
You and your family members shall not be victims of destiny diversion in the name of Jesus!
God Himself gave the instruction;
Jonah 1:2
Get up! Go to the great city of Nineveh and preach against it because their evil has come up before me.
Anytime God gives an instruction it comes with a reward, but the challenge is our flesh wars against the spiritual benefits of the instructions from the Lord.
When we disobey God that is a key to the doors that leads into spiritual slumber which was what happened to Jonah
Jonah 1:2b…but Jonah had gone down to the lowest part of the vessel, where he lay down and FELL INTO A DEEP SLEEP.
Friends, spiritual sleep is dangerous for the Christian child of God, and this is the cost of disobeying God’s instruction.
And it comes with consequences, what are the consequences? Your flesh wants to go to Joppa to relax and enjoy the frills of life; the flesh will always want to sleep. The flesh wants it now, against the eternal values of the instructions of the Lord.
Do you know that a temporary high in the place of the flesh will always lead to a dangerous spiritual low, and sometimes people don’t recover from it?
I pray for you, you shall not become a victim of spiritual slumber in the name of Jesus!
Matthew 13:25
But while men slept, his enemy came and sowed tares among the wheat, and went his way.
And the greatest enemy of man in the face of spiritual battles of life is spiritual sleep, this is very dangerous because it takes people unaware, and the reason is not far-fetched…disobedience to instructions from God.
It is so amazing that whenever God gives us instructions it is to better our life and our destiny, but, most times we will prefer to follow our own instincts, hoping you can lead yourself. Most times instead of following God’s path we choose to create our own, which eventually leads nowhere, you just keep going round in circles
Jeremiah 29:11
For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.
Every of God’s instruction for you is to lead you to an expected end
Child of God when you have a choice to make, don’t choose to go against God’s instructions or God’s Word, chose to follow God’s instruction to the end, it is better to obey God’s instruction. Trust that God will never lead you astray or let you down. Take the time to hear His voice, get His guidance, then, follow after His instructions by obeying His voice
By the authority in the name of Jesus, I terminate every ungodly journey over your life! The mistakes of your fathers shall not be transferred to you and your children in the name of Jesus Christ!
The enemy shall not switch your journey for evil in this life!
You shall not be removed from the place of your divine blessing!
I decree over your life, you shall not be a waste; you shall find the purpose for your destiny!
I command every dark work against your life to be annulled by the blood of Jesus!
Your destiny shall reach the finish line of the race of life in the name of Jesus!
I recover your destiny from every evil destiny diversion, arise and become the light Jehovah God has made you!
Every delay issued against your destiny is cancelled by the blood of Jesus!
You shall reach the end and you shall end well in Jesus mighty name. Amen!
