Mark 4:37 And there arose a great storm of wind, and the waves beat into the ship, so that it was now full.
Mark 4:38 And he was in the hinder part of the ship, asleep on a pillow: and they awake him, and say unto him, Master, carest thou not that we perish?
Mark 4:39 And he arose, and rebuked the wind, and said unto the sea, Peace, be still. And the wind ceased, and there was a great calm.
Mark 4:40 And he said unto them, Why are ye so fearful? how is it that ye have no faith?
How is it that ye have no faith?
Meaning he was expecting them to be able by now to overcome fear and exhibit faith in that situation on the sea.
You see, the disciples had been with Jesus for a while, and they had seen Him perform many miracles. But when the storm came, they forgot about all the amazing things they had witnessed with Jesus. They forgot that Jesus was the Son of God, and that He had the power to calm the storm. They let their fear take over, and they doubted Jesus’ ability to save them. That is how satan operates, he will show you the storm so you can doubt your faith.
You know, faith is not just about believing in God; it is about trusting Him to take care of you, no matter what the situation might be. The Bible says, “Faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen” (Hebrews 11:1). When we have faith, we can speak to the storms in our lives, just like Jesus did. We can say, “Peace, be still,” and trust that God will calm the storm.
Dear friend are you going through a situation right now that does not have a solution by man, let your faith rise up and speak “peace be still” by faith and it will respond to you!
2 Corinthians 5:7 For we walk by faith, not by sight.
Child of God, let us walk by faith, and trust God to guide us through the storms of life.
Mark 4:41 And they feared exceedingly, and said one to another, What manner of man is this, that even the wind and the sea obey him?
